Nicole & Alastair’s Peppers Creek Wedding Duo & Band

After a year’s postponement, Nicole and Alastair celebrated at Peppers Creek in the Hunter Valley. We joined them with an acoustic duo for the ceremony and canapés, then a five-piece band for dinner and dancing.

Chapel ceremony and Barrel Room reception

Nicole and Alastair held their ceremony in the chapel at Peppers Creek, with the reception in the Barrel Room.

A recommendation from the best man

Their best man, Damien, had seen Duke perform at another wedding and recommended us to the couple. They chose a duo for the ceremony and canapés, with the quintet for the reception.

“Little Things” for the aisle

For One Direction fan Nicole, “Little Things” was the aisle choice, performed live by our duo in the chapel.

Certainly one of the highlights of performing for their Ceremony was to have Alastair come up to us soon afterwards to let us know how well he thought we’d played that song 🙂 Job done! The tone was perfectly set for the rest of the celebrations ahead!

Acoustic music in the chapel courtyard

As Canapés continued after the Ceremony beside the Chapel, we played on as an Acoustic Duo in the Chapel courtyard whilst guests mingled and supped champers. Whilst we were providing some beautiful ambient music for guests to socialize, I had the pleasure of briefly getting a happy-snap with some long time friends (between songs) – what a joy to unexpectedly see them! This is a photo of me with Mark and his wife Denise (Damien’s Mum and Dad!). Mark was the Musical Director of a show I performed back in 2008 .. just a little Disney production called ‘Beauty And The Beast’ where I had the honor of performing the lead role of ‘Belle’. You can watch a little of it here!

Five-piece band in the Barrel Room

Guests moved into the Barrel Room for the reception, where our quintet took over for the evening.

Duke had the honor of playing their Reception entrance song ‘Let’s Get It Started’ by the Black Eyed Peas (classic!) as each couple was formally introduced to the wedding guests.

We played live dinner music as the entrée and main courses were served.

Nicole and Alastair opened the dance floor with our live version of Tamia’s “So Into You”. The band followed with classic party tracks, retro singalongs and rock songs.

One Direction for the farewell

We returned to One Direction for the farewell, playing “Kiss You” as Nicole and Alastair said goodbye.

Alastair and Nicole’s Review

Alastair shared the words below after the wedding.

Planning your ceremony duo and wedding band

Explore our wedding music packages, then tell Josie and Tim your date, venue and the songs you want to hear live.

I don’t even know what to say. We are just absolutely in awe of you all! Nicole and I have spent the last day just going back and forth reliving moments from the dance floor at our wedding. You guys gave us the day that we’ve always dreamed of. Your performance, timing and professionalism was phenomenal. But most importantly you were just so much bloody fun and really knew how to get everyone involved. I really, really mean it when I say that you absolutely made our wedding. Every single song was an absolute banger and I think everyone at our wedding has made the effort to tell us how incredible you were. We’ll send you a few pics of the night when they come through from our photographer but I really wanted to say a huge huge HUGE thank you for everything.

Much love, Al & Nicole
